At present there is no digital consent mechanism in WriteUpp but this is largely because we haven't developed any functionality that is intended to be surfaced to patients or clients. For example, an electronic pre-screening form that might get sent to the client via email or via a web-portal.
With regard to recording consent, say during an assessment, we adopt the same approach in WriteUpp as we do with our NHS products.
In these situations we suggest you do one of the following:
Assessments - when you create an assessment in the Form Builder you should add a checkbox at the start or end of the form saying something like "Patient Consent Granted". This can the be checked as and when the patient gives you consent during the assessment
Notes - its somewhat less common to record consent when writing notes (largely because its often already be done in the initial assessment) but if it is required we would recommend adding a comment at the end of your notes saying "Patient Consent Granted"
This model is employed in the six major NHS Trusts that we work with and in all cases has satisfied internal governance and auditability requirements.
